About

Within Just a Few Generations, an Extra 30 Years have been Added to our Life Expectancy - Our “Third Act”

“Old age” for our great-grandparents is now “middle age” for ourselves.

So what are you going to do with this gift of time?

For most of us, this is uncharted territory.  Role models to help us navigate so many new sets of questions are limited.

This remarkable extension of our life expectancy has precipitated exciting changes in our attitudes toward aging. Nowadays, we are rejecting outdated models of “retirement”. Instead of stepping back, we are embracing this gift of time to shift, edit and expand in all areas of our lives. We are reimagining how we live, love, work, serve and thrive in our “third act”.

Our “third act” is a time to seek meaning and arrive at our best life — with joyful, engaged and truly purposeful decades ahead.

Creating a new way of living this phase of life does not come naturally to most of us.  It requires digging deep and sloshing around in uncomfortable, unknown waters. Vulnerability and insecurity can run high in the face of workplaces and a culture that has limited respect for “older” people.

Do you shift or leave a long term career, re-enter the workplace after years of raising your family, launch a new business or passionate initiative you have held back from pursuing for years?  (Did you know that women over 50 own over 50% of small businesses?)  Do you focus on a passion over income, choosing to learn new things and develop your talents?  How do you deepen or change your relationships, spend more time with people you love, connect with new like-minded friends and shape ways to serve and make an impact in the world?

Are you ready to set aside your fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs to fulfill your life’s desires? Do you want to get back in touch with who you are to create the life that you were mean to live? Are you ready for your “third act” quest?

“What Do You Plan to do with Your One Wild and Precious Life?”

(Mary Oliver)

The demands of our adult and early “mid-life” years can distance us from our what we once dreamed our lives would be, as we build careers, care for our families, and meet the demands of our aging parents. It offers the singular opportunity to reinvent and re-negotiate our lives on new and truly authentic terms. It’s surprising how much capacity we all have for deep happiness and joy, both despite and because of life’s challenges. Honest and sometimes painful reflection can bring us home to who we truly are and re-define our life story.

Since my twenties, the question above, raised by author, Mary Oliver, has been a regular touchstone to my thoughts and reflections. The practice of asking myself this question often through my life, accompanied by the optimistic belief that anything is possible, has guided and propelled me on my life’s journey. All of my life visions, meaningful experiences and personal development started with this evocative question.

Third Act Quest programs use this and other immersive questions, self-exploration and conversation to help people discover or re-discover their desires across every dimension of their lives as the foundation to create a holistic life vision and action plan for their exceptional “third act”.

Third Act Quest will Support You on this Beautiful Journey.

Third Act Quest is working to reframe the experience and perception of aging for individuals, in the workplace and in our culture in general.

As the pandemic and the events of the past year change much in and around our lives, we have even more opportunities to reinvent our lives, share our wisdom, serve and take our place in the emerging “new” world as an “elder”.

How will you create a life of fulfilling and meaningful engagement in your “third act” - across all aspects of your life, and within your living and social communities and in the world?

Importantly as well, Third Act Quests aims to help bridge understanding, connection, collaboration and mutual mentorship between generations.

Programs include private and group coaching, unique experiential workshops, events and a community of like-minded people age 50+. Our programs are virtual for now, but soon again we will be offering in-person experiences.

You the author of your story, the driver in your quest.. I am like your co-pilot, ready to support, guide and provide accountability to you on your journey.

It’s like a personal renaissance… a clarifying rebirth or awakening of what you most want to do and be in the decades ahead.

Your “Third Act Quest” can be the Most Rewarding, Exciting,

Meaningful Time of Your Life

“Quest” is an evocative word. It brings to mind a journey, an enterprise where the hero seeks something meaningful — the holy grail, true love, the truth. It’s a grand adventure.  In medieval times, the hero’s quest required conscious intention, desire, intuition, resilience and wisdom and, most important of all—action.  Heroes put aside fear, uncertainty and self-doubt. They ignored their foes to ensure the success of their seeking journey.

In our fifties and beyond, our “third act” requires these same virtues.

Life’s infinite possibilities offer you the rewards of your lifetime: meaningful, engaged, joyful years we are all meant to live.

Just like finding the holy grail, the process of envisioning your “third act” can be the most exciting time of your life. It is the time to unearth the passions and dreams that may have been buried or overshadowed — to reclaim parts of yourself, contribute your wisdom and gifts to serve and make an impact in the world - and connect to your true self.

It’s Time to Explore Essential Questions to Create PLANS FOR

Your “Third Act”

I love that “quest” is the root of the word “question”!

  • Are you ready to reimagine your life - for a kind of personal renaissance — awakening and clarifying how and who you want to be in your “third act”?

  • What do you most desire - what are the "must-haves" that can insure your "third act" life is meaningful and truly happy? (your relationships, your purpose, your career, your experiences, your health, how and where you live? …)

  • What do your relationships and your constellation of friends look like? Do they support and love you?

  • What underlying passions and callings need to be heard? Are you ready to listen?

  • Is there a way you want to serve and have an impact in the world, but don’t know how?

  • Are you ready to dig deep, reflect and explore your desires and create a clear vision for your life?

  • If not now…when?
